CWA LOCAL 13000 VETERANS COMMITTEE
Many of our troops are fighting the war in the Middle East. These brave men and women will not be home anytime soon. They are half way around the world–away from their husbands, wives and children–feeling the agony of separation.
But, a phone call can help. It can take them out of the death and destruction of war into the warmth of their homes–if only for a moment. It can give a soldier a chance to say “I love you” to their husband or wife or hear a 3 year old say, “I love you”. It can give faith, hope and a reason to fight on. To a soldier away from home, a phone call can be the closest thing to going home.
CWA members continue to provide a way to make that phone call. As word of your generosity has spread, the CWA Local 13000 Veterans Committee is receiving more and more requests from our friends and families for additional phone cards. So, we ask you to please continue to give and collect from anyone who wishes to help.
We are again asking every Representative to collect from all of their members, friends and family members willing to help the brave men and women who we don’t know but are willing to protect us and keep us free. The phone cards that we provide are a small token of our appreciation but mean so much to our soldiers and their families.
Collect as much as possible and turn in the donations or phone cards to the Veterans Committee. Checks should be made payable to CWA Local 13000 Community Services Fund. Please note on the check “Veterans Phone Cards”. Donations or phone cards can also be given to your Unit President so they can pass them on to the Veterans Committee.
On behalf of the American Troops, their families and the CWA Veterans Committee we thank you for your continued support.
